Halpern Enterprises has been looking to expand to the Quebec market for almost 20 years, sometimes encouraged by the SAQ, restauranteurs and private clientele looking to gain access to many of the world’s best wines. Select Wines has been working in the Quebec market for 25 years and has established trade marketing, retail and on-trade sales teams. VdV will leverage the success and business excellence of the Select Wines team with the industry-leading super premium portfolio and customer service standard of Halpern’s Ontario business. The result of the joint venture is a new kind of importing company never seen before in the Quebec market. 

La Voix du Vin will offer suppliers a different style of representation in Quebec. We will support the SAQ retail system with unparalleled premium offerings while providing first-class field support to the SAQ retail stores. VdV will also be extremely active in the Private Importation (IP) which is fundamental to the on-premise and super premium marketplace. VdV will direct business and sales on behalf our suppliers based on decisions focused solely on what is in the best interest of our wineries. Once products are in market, we will work with customers (restaurants and collectors) to a “white glove” standard. The hospitality and private client sales team of Select Wines will join VdV. Ultimately our goal is to create the largest direct to consumer and on-premise sales force in the province with the finest wine portfolio. Lead by Gilles Goulet, VdV will offer wines for all occasions including a strong by the glass program through to the allocation of highly rare and luxury brands.
